To commemorate the LIVESTRONG foundation’s most important cycling fundraiser, the RIDE FOR THE ROSES—an annual ride in its 12th year whose participants raise a minimum of $10,000 each to benefit the organization’s fight against cancer—Supertouch has paired the event’s frontman LANCE ARMSTRONG with artist SHEPARD FAIREY to create some imagery worthy of the challenge. An extremely limited-edition poster bearing Shepard’s rendition of Lance on a recent training run for the Tour de France 2009 has been screened as a gift for attending riders at the Austin event while seven handmade fine art renditions of the image signed by both Lance and Shepard will be auctioned off on eBay to benefit the charity at the event’s conclusion on October 26th.

Following his commissioned poster designs for the OBAMA Campaign’s VOTE FOR CHANGE initiative last month, THUNDERDOG STUDIOS head designer TRISTAN EATON has put his energy into a last minute push for the Democratic contender with a new campaign poster and ballot box character. Designed as a reminder for registered voters to actually show up and cast their ballot for Obama on November 4th, the poster’s image of Barack is made up entirely of icons relevant to his personal history and political messaging, while the new ballot box character is a downloadable paper cut out figure that fans can assemble and leave in their cubicle as a daily voting reminder. And, just for fun, Eaton has customized a TRACKSTAR fixed gear bike with his Obama graphics, which will be sold to generate funds for the campaign in its final week.
