Artist Spotlight: Barbara Kruger

Barbara Kruger is an American artist who became famous for her placement of bright text on top of her black and white photography. It’s usually declarative phrases that cricize “sexism and the circulation of power within cultures.” She’s been an influence for many, including Shepard Fairey’s work with Obey as well as popular fashion companies like Supreme.
