Went by the Armory and Scope shows this weekend.  Here are some of my favorite pieces from D*Face, Risk, RETNA, FAILE, and some others.

Shout out to Martha Cooper for the images.

Check out the recently unveiled murals by artists Herakut, D*Face, and RETNA.  Debuted in LA at the Wende Museum in an exhibition titled “Behind the Berlin Wall,” each piece incorporates uniquely styled visuals on the largest intact pieces of the Berlin Wall outside of Germany.

art is not a crime

September 27, 2011

“art is not a crime” — I used to hate this saying when I was younger. Matter of fact, I thought it was corny. Recently they took this old house and turned it into a beautiful piece of artwork.  However, the city then tried to give the owner a $5,000 a day fine till the mural was taken down.  I think that everything worked out in their favor, but it still raises eyebrows on where the country stands on public art.
