Yatzer at Illustrative BERLIN
December 4, 2009
“The visualization, such as drawing, painting, photograph or other work of Art, made to elucidate or decorate textual information (such as a story, a poem, a newspaper article, etc.) by providing a visual representation”, is the definition of illustration.
From 16.10.2009 until 01.11.2009, Berlin is living once again in the beat of Illustrative 2009, a unique art festival for current illustration and graphic art, which returns after two years to its hometown. Exhibitions, events, workshops, art battles and many other surprises are taking place throughout the city, when the main core of the Illustrative 2009 is in the magnificent Schinkelbau-Villa. Illustrators from Canada, US, Japan, South-America and all over Europe as well as Berlin present their art work in the most international exhibition so far.

On Saturday October 17, 2009 the Elisabeth Church was packed with people who wanted to watch the Swatch MTV Playground LIVE Art Battle. Berlin-duo, Ben and Julia, put their artistic skills to the test as they competed head-to-head while the clock was ticking backwards. The winner of the battle was Ben with his Obelix-like creature! We covered it LIVE from Berlin in addition with the ILLUSTRATIVE 2009 art festival, and just to refresh your memories a bit Yatzer is a media partner of Swatch MTV Playground which also took place in a successful event in Athens * GR. Enjoy images of this “Holy Battle” as their markers burn down like a candle.

Google Zurich = Fantasy World
December 3, 2009
Swiss architectural firm, Camenzind Evolution, created the ideal workplace for Google employees in Zurich… aka Zooglers. We’re talking bean bag chairs, flat screens, pool tables, pinball machines, bars, fireman poles, gyms, office-pods, free food, nap rooms, recliners, court yards, grills, aquariums, indoor trees, and a motherfucking SLIDE to get down a floor. It’s unbelievable:

“The resulting design is a distinctive, diverse, light and flexible workspace, wich has been specifically developed to stimulate and support the Googlers in their challenging and innovative work” – Camenzind Evolution

Warhol’s “Eight Elvises” is Sold for an Insane Amount of Money
December 1, 2009
This iconic Andy Warhol print, “Eight Elvises” has been acquired in a private sale for a fat wad of chedda:

Any guesses on how much it went for?
Here’s a hint, this sale makes Andy one of the top 10 most expensive artists of all time.
Anything?
How about 100 MILLION DOLLARS. Un-fucking-believable. You could fix the recession with that kinda money lol. The image hasn’t been seen in public since 1963, which is pretty crazy. Also the buyer is still a mystery… but if you can afford to blow 100 mill, you’re in an elite group of people!
