On Thursday, Julian Alexander will be moderating a discussion with Doug Cunningham and Jason Noto of Morning Breath at the Apple Store on W. 14th St. They will be sharing their body of work and talking about the creative process. The event info is below. If you’re around, come by.

Meet the Designers: Morning Breath

Join us for a discussion with designers Doug Cunningham and Jason Noto, proprietors of Morning Breath, a boutique studio in Brooklyn, New York. The two first met while working in the design department of Think Skateboards in San Francisco, and since then, their work has gradually grown beyond designing skate and snowboard graphics to include music packaging, apparel, posters, and advertising. At this event, moderated by Julian Alexander of Slang Inc., learn how Morning Breath has become one of the most talked-about design studios in the business.

Andre Woolery, a self-taught artist who lives and works in Harlem, has crafted portraits of black icons ranging from President Barack Obama to Kanye West using thousands and thousands of the brightly colored pushpins.

Many of those portraits, which are between two and nine feet tall, were on display at TriBeca’s Frontrunner Gallery, in a show aptly titled “Bruised Thumbs.”

Shout out to Martha Cooper for the images.
